Scripture Word Cards

Over at Scripture Scrappers, we are doing daily scripture word cards. I think this is a great idea. Yesterday's word was "faith." I threw this one together real quickly. I am making mine as 6x6 cards to put in an album that I can display on a table. This beautiful stamp is from Unity Stamp Co. All of the paper is from an older Mosh Posh kit.

Mojo Madness!

It has been a crazy week. I worked registration for the students at school for three days this week. I was determined to take it easy today but I still wound up at the school working in my room. My efforts paid off and I am now finished decorating. The only thing missing in my class is the students. I can't wait for school to start! I am aching to see bright, new faces staring back at me. I am eager to get to know them and even more eager to try and make a difference in their lives. I am so ready! The teachers go back to work on Monday and the students come back Thursday.

With all of the craziness going on in trying to get my classroom ready, I haven't had much time or energy for scrapping. But, a big dose of mojo hit me out of the blue today and I made three cards!

I used Mojo Monday sketches on these first two.

I tried a new technique on this one. I ran aluminum foil through my Cuttlebug! I LOVE the effect that it gave me. I had no plan for this card when I started it. I was basically just playing with the aluminum foil and came up with this. I am very happy with the way it turned out.

As always, thanks for looking. Have a beautiful and blessed weekend! :)

Give Thanks...Mojo Monday Contest

Yesterday I discovered Mojo Monday, a sketch blog. I don't know what it was about their blog that just captured me...maybe it was because their sketches are pink...who knows? But, I just fell in love! I'll be going back go Mojo Monday all the time to use their sketches. It just so happened that they are having a contest with the current sketch. The sketch looked like it would be a great one to work with.

Here's the sketch (week 94).
And here's my take on it.

Thanks for looking!

This Week's Cards

My week hasn't been too busy. On Monday, my brother and I helped our Aunt Mary with the task of cleaning out some things at our grandmother's house (she passed away in April). On Tuesday, we went shopping and had lunch at Chili's where I was good and ordered from the "guiltless" menu. On Wednesday, I scrapped. Today, I scrapped some more. I put a big dent in Andrew's Boy Scouts album that I've been working on for what feels like forever. Two more pages and I'll be finished!

A little *toot* for myself - I am so proud of my workout efforts this week. I've been doing the My Fitness Coach for the Wii combined with Wii Fit and it's really making me feel great! I have time now to exercise. I just hope that when school starts back (August 3 for teachers) that I continue with this good habit.

I also had time to make cards this week.

This is one I made for my mama's friend. I made it based on last week's card sketch challenge at Split Coast Stampers (SC235). I used Basic Grey Urban Prairie scraps. I have so much of that paper so I keep trying to use it up. I know you must think that's the only PP I have. That cute little Happy Birthday stamp is from Studio G.

I made this one using an older Mosh Posh kit and Unity Stamps. I "colored" the lamp shades with Shimmerz Paint in Angel Wings and Key Lime. It is for the July card challenge at in the technique category. This month's technique was to do faux stitching. My cross stiches were done with a Sharpie.

This last card was based on this week's card sketch challenge at Split Coast Stampers. I love working with sketches. The hardest part for me is choosing my papers. I used some My Mind's Eye papers along with a stamp from Unity's Beach Days and Sun Rays kit.

My fellow Sassy Blinging Babe, Sarah, created an Etsy shop. Sarah never ceases to amaze me with her creativity. She is so talented! Please take a moment to hop over to her shop and see all of the pretty things she has to offer. Click here to visit Sarah's Etsy shop.

I have had an Etsy shop for awhile but I didn't have anything in it. Sarah inspired me to re-open my shop. After all, I do have a lot of cards lying around. I make cards just for fun and usually without a purpose. Hopefully someone will like my cards and will want to buy them. You can click here to visit my shop. There's not much in it yet.

Thanks for looking! I hope I've provided you with a bit of inspiration today.
Enjoy the rest of your week!

Inspired by Color

I recently discovered all of the great color inspirations on the kwernerdesign blog. Kristina compiles these great color combos. I printed off a few of them to use when I get stuck. Last night I was itching to create so I asked my mom to pick her favorite of the color combos. She picked Color Inspiration #50.

Here is what I created using that color combination. The best part is that all of the paper I used came from my scrap box. I added some Unity stamps, yellow Stickles, and used my sewing machine and the Fiskars Threading Water border punch.

Visit Kristina's blog and hopefully you'll be color inspired as well! :)
