CPC Fun on Friday - Monogram Cards

Hi everyone! It's time for the Christian Paper Crafts Fun on Friday challenge. This week's challenge is to make a monogram card. No, I didn't do this to torture you. LOL! I thought it might be fun and something different. Here are a few ideas that will hopefully provide you with some inspiration:

1) Use those alpha stickers you've been hoarding! LOL! I have a whole drawer full of them. These would be GREAT!! In fact, I may do this soon! Helloooo, Thickers!

2) Martha Stewart has a FREE download for monograms that you punch out with a circle punch. The only drawback is that I think they are 3-inch circles.

3) Taylored Expressions has a downloadble, printable set for sale in their store for $4.95.

4) Just type up your choice of letter(s) in Microsoft Word in your favorite font, print, and punch them out!

I truly hope that I haven't scared y'all off with this challenge! I think I did it mainly to challenge myself. I've always wanted to create a set of notecards for myself because I love to send cards to people. However, - prepare to drop your mouth open - when I need a quick thank you note, I usually just send a store-bought note. Yes, I know! I'm HORRIBLE! So, I'm going to make up some more cards like this one so I won't have to use store-bought notecards anymore. I always make cards for everyone else to use but myself! Anybody else do that?

I kept my card very simple because I wanted to be able to make up a whole set of these to keep on hand for myself. Maybe if I'm really ambitious I might even make a matching box! Oooo! Maybe being the key word there. Anyway, those adorable papers are from the October Afternoon Fly a Kite collection....I *heart* those papers! They are also from the June Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients, as is the ric-rac and the cardstock I used. My monogram was stamped with a JustRite stamper. I popped it up with a little foam tape for some dimension. Now, you don't have to use one of those fancy-schmancy stampers to do this challenge. I just bought it a long time ago specifically to make myself a set of notecards and *blush* I'm just now getting around to it.

I'd love to have you play along in the challenge this week. You can check out all the fun in the CPC Fun on Friday forum.

On a personal note, do you ever find yourself going through a whole week without creating anything? That was me this week. Today's card was the first thing I created since last Saturday. I just didn't have any mojo or desire to create anything all week. Please tell me it's not just me! I have a crafty to-do list a mile long, but perhaps I just needed a break. Anyway...have a great day! Thanks so much for stopping by!
