Golden Girl Birthday Blog Hop

Hi there! Today my sweet design team sister, Darsie, is celebrating her 50th birthday - her golden birthday! The Deedee's Digis design team is throwing her an awesome birthday party in the form of a blog hop! You should've hopped here from the Deedee's Digi blog. If not, please hop back over there so you don't miss out on any of the fun (or instructions on how to win fun prizes)!

We would love for you to join in the fun today, and there is even a party favor in it for you! Who doesn't love a freebie, right?! Here's what you have to do to party along with us:
  • Visit each participant's blog (in order) to see what they have created for the blog hop.
  • Each designer will also have a letter of the alphabet to share with you. If you put all the letters together, it will spell out the special code with which to claim your party favor! Email me the code to Deedee at and she'll send you the new "Happy Birthday to Ewe" digi! It is very important to visit the participants blogs in the correct order so that you don't miss out on any of those letters!
Also, please stop by Darsie's blog and wish the Golden Girl herself a Happy Birthday!! On Monday, Darsie will choose one random winner from her well-wishers who will receive a GOLDEN grand prize -- a $50 credit to spend at the Deedee's Digis store! Now, that is some prize!

I created a birthday card for Darsie. I used the Wish Big set by Deedee's Digis. I used this same set on a card earlier this week, except I used the layered cake then, and today I used the cupcake. Cupcakes are my favorite thing! I hope Darsie likes them, too! I followed a Sweet Stop Sketch from a few weeks ago. I colored the image with Copic markers and added different shades of Stickles for some sparkle. I cut out the sentiment and scallop layer with Nestabilities. The papers are by Making Memories. I finished it off with a black ribbon and some bling in each corner.

The secret letter from my blog is "G." Your next stop on the hop is Ceal. Head on over there to see her creation as well as to get the next letter in the secret word! Have fun partying and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Wish Big!

Hi there! I haven't posted to my blog in a very long sorry about that! Things in my life have been crazy-busy lately. I've been teaching, tutoring in the afternoons, and trying to keep up with my weekly homework assignments for the class I am taking.

Also, I am now planning a wedding!! Yes, that's right! My fiance, Andrew, and I finally set a wedding date!! We've been engaged since January of 2009, but we were waiting until he finished college to get married. He will graduate in December, and we have set our wedding date for April 18. I am VERY excited. I know it's not until April, but I've been planning like crazy, and I even bought my dress! Later in the week, I'll do a post all about the plans I've been making, but for now, I actually have a card to share with you.

I used this adorable new set from Deedee's Digis called Wish Big. I don't know about you, but I never have enough birthday cards on hand, so I decided to make this one to add to my stash. I colored the image with Copic markers and added Yellow and Lime Stickles to the candles for a little sparkle. I cut out the "Wish Big" sentiment with Circle Nestabilities. It is layered on the green cardstock that was cut out with Scallop Circle Nestabilities.

All of the papers and the pink candy dots are from an older Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients. I've just about used it up, and I got lots of cards made from it.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Have a great rest of the weekend! :)

My First Saints Game

On Friday, August 27, Andrew and I got to go to the New Orleans Saints vs. San Diego Chargers football game! It was my first Saints game, and we had an awesome time! We had really great seats close to field level in the endzone. Our seats were right next to the Saints' tunnel, so we got to spot a lot of players close-up. Quarterback Drew Brees even ran over and signed some autographs before the game started! Of course, the Saints won the game, and I can't wait to go to another game! Here are some photos. They're fuzzy and not very good quality. I should've took my Nikon, but I took my little camera. I won't make that mistake again!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my photos! It was a busy week for me, and I didn't get anything created at all. I'm fighting a cold today, but hopefully I will be back to my craft desk soon!
