TE Last Card Standing

Hi there! I have some exciting news!

I am a finalist in the Taylored Expressions Last Card Standing Contest! I made the Top 15

For the next round we had to create a friendship-themed card. We also had to include at least two patterned papers and ribbon. Here is what I came up with.

I used two different TE stamp sets - Discover Your Wings and A Year of Sweet Sentiments. I stamped the flowers in Colorbox Lime Pastel Chalk Ink and cut it out with Wonky Rectangles Nestabilities. I accented my image with some glitter. The patterned papers I used are from the Echo Park Country Drive collection. I embossed the pink background patterned paper with the Seeing Spots embossing folder and stamped the sentiment directly onto the paper and added a few rhinestones to draw attention to it. I added a border with the MFT Simply Scallops Border Die-namics. I did some stitching around the edges and finished my card off with some Kraft ribbon.

Thanks SO much for stopping by my blog today! Wish me luck! I need it...the competition is AMAZING...such TALENTED card-makers!! :)

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is offering three digi stamps of the winner's choice!

I also created this card for the MFT Stamps October Guest Designer contest! I followed this sketch for the contest.

I used the MFT Pure Innocence Li'l Pumpkin Stamp. I just love coloring these precious little girls! I colored her with Copic markers. The paper is from the Bo Bunny Apple Cider collection. I love the rich, fall tones! It definitely does not feel like fall yet, but I am using my fall Scentsy fragances and making fall cards! I'm ready for it!

I added a border with the MFT Medium Simply Scallops Border Die-namics and stitched around my card with some kraft-colored thread. I embellished it with some Kraft ribbon and pearls.

Here are the MFT items I used on my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure you check out the rest of the inspiration from the design team!

The Craft's Meow is offering a stamp set of the winner's choice!

I decided to keep my card very clean and simple. I'm just going to go ahead and keep-it-real here and tell you why. My craft room is normally extremely organized and clean. However, I did not clean up the other night after I made a card, and my desk looked like Hurricane Isaac decided to come back and wreak havoc on my craft room. So because things were such a mess, I decided to go clean and simple. Like I said, just keeping it real, folks! I used to be afraid of clean and simple, but we're slowly becoming friends.

I used some Papertrey Ink Harvest Gold cardstock and rounded the corners. I used a sentiment from the Papertrey Ink Signature Greetings stamp set. I cut out scalloped pieces from the Echo Park Hello Summer paper using the MFT Jumbo Scallops Border Die-namics. I finished my card off with some ribbon and rhinestones. I love how this turned out!

Here is the card I created for today's challenge.

My dad's birthday is this week, so I thought this would be a perfect time to go ahead and make him a birthday card...ahead of time, for once! My dad flies remote control airplanes. He has a whole room in the house that he calls his "hangar" where he works on his planes; therefore, each time I make him a card, I make sure to include an airplane of some sort. Today I used this adorable airplane paper from the Echo Park Little Boy collection. I love that I made my daddy a card with "little boy" paper. LOL! I used the Numbered Days stamp set from TSG. I love this set! It works for masculine or feminine, young or old, and even birthdays and anniversaries! I colored the numbers with Copic markers and added some Crystal Stickles. This card layout is Sweet Stop Sketch #173, but I turned it and scooted my image panel over some to show off more of the airplanes. I did LOTS of stitching (is stitching masculine?!) and finished my card off with three silver brads.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you'll play along with our TSG birthday challenges!

Happy Birthday, SSIC!

This Sunday is SSiC's 3rd Birthday and we invite you to celebrate with us by way of a Birthday Blog Hop!!

Helen is our lovely challenge hostess.  The challenge is to make a birthday card and is inspired by this Scripture:  John 3:3 "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Please be sure to read Helen's devotional on this Scripture on our challenge blog!

Our challenge sponsor is Verses, who is donating a $15 Gift Card to one random participant in our card challenge (please link your card in our Linky) and as always, we will pick 3 Shining Stars whose cards will be showcased the following Tuesday on our blog!

And now for the Blog Hop!  We will pick 3 random winners who complete the hop and who leave a comment on all our DT's blogs!  Hoppers do not have to make a card and enter our challenge, although we'd love it if they did!  Hoppers could win one of the following:

$20 GC to Daydream Designs,
3 Free digis from The Digi Garden,

and 3 digi sets from Carly's Cuties

Winners from the blog hop will be announced on Tuesday, Sept. 11th along with our challenge winner and Shining Stars.

Here's the birthday card I made for the hop. I dedicate this card to the Stampin' Sisters in Christ!

I used the It's Your Birthday a la carte stamp by Taylored Expressions. I love their little a la carte stamps because they make up quick and easy cards, and since I never seem to have a birthday card on hand when I need it, this stamp is perfect. I used some fun papers from the My Mind's Eye Life of the Party collection. I love the squigglies! I colored my image with Copic markers and added lots of Crystal Stickles to the letters. I love the sparklies, too! :) I stitched around the edges and finished it off with some pretty organza ribbon, a little twine, and another favorite - three Kaisercraft sparklets! LOVE those!

Challenges I Used:
Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge #148 - (3 embellies - twine, ribbon, and sparklets; 2 patterned papers; 1 image)
Stampin' with the Dragon - birthday card
Cute Card Thursday #232 - stitching
Crafting for all Seasons #34 - stitching
Divas by Design #50 - celebrate
Crafty Sentiments - Let's Sparkle

That's it for me here! Hop to Diane's blog next. I know she has something beautiful to share with you!  Here's the blog hop order in case you get lost...Happy hoppin'!!
